Adult Swim Fun House Tour

The Adult Swim Fun House recently embarked on a trip to colleges across America. The tour made its way to 10 different colleges and universities. The Fun House was 40-feet tall with 15 different Adult Swim themed shows. During the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, the attraction also made an appearance, along with a monolith sized Meatwad tent.

The monolith-esque Fun House

The Fun House is hard to miss, stylized to represent a giant castle, with LSD inspired architecture. The living room from Aqua Teen had Dana Snyder’s voice echoing throughout the hallways and various flashing lights and mind-bending colors.

The campaign was carried out by Hadley Media, which specializes in experiential campaigns. In the past, Hadley Media has worked with Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, and various other Turner Broadcasting companies. Hadley Media is currently a finalist in the category “Best Use of Technology for Data-Collection and/or Measurement” in the EVENTtech Las Vegas conference. EVENTtech conference focuses, “..on using social media and technology to optimize events and trade shows.” It is apparent that Hadley Media focused on data and results from the start of the campaign.

From the details given, we can assume that overall this campaign was successful. Hadley Media went after the main demographic of Adult Swim: white male adults in college, ages 18-36. By touring colleges around the country, and creating an environment that best represented Adult Swim and its brands, they were able to control the experience of the guests.

In addition to the college tours, the Fun House was featured at the San Diego Comic-Con. While the San Diego Comic-Con has not released demographic statistics, the New York Comic-Con has. According to the New York Comic-Con website, 54% percent of the attendees were 18-34, and 62% of those were male. Although the Fun House did not make an appearance in New York, it would be a fair assumption that the San Diego Comic-Con attracted similar demographics. While stationed in San Diego, the Adult Swim Fun House reached full capacity each day during Comic-Con.
